Cancer Support

As well as contacting the Practice to discuss any support that you may need, there is a range of other support services and information available to help you, your family, and friends at this difficult time.

Macmillan Cancer Support offer direct services that you might find useful. Their support line is open 7 days a week between 8:00AM and 8:00PM. They provide confidential support to people living with cancer and to their loved ones. If you are worried about money, work, or treatment, you can call free on 0808 808 000. The Delamere Centre at Halton Hospital also offers support and a drop-in service for anyone affected by cancer. This includes people who require information about cancer, have a cancer diagnosis, have survived cancer, are looking to reduce the risks of cancer, are a carer, relative or friend of someone with cancer. They are open between Monday and Friday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM and offer complementary therapies and beauty, counselling services, meditation sessions, goddess classes and a lymphoedema service. The Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Group also offer resources that may be of use to you. This is based at 21-24 Alforde Street, Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 7TR and it offers support, a listening ear, counselling, art therapy, beauty, and holistic therapies as well as respite breaks. The centre is open between 10:00AM and 3:00PM Monday to Friday and you can contact them on 0151 423 5730 or by filling an online contact form via their website, which is www.widnesandruncorncancersupport.org.uk.
