The Care Quality Commission (CQC) conducted a comprehensive inspection at Grove House Practice on 15 November 2023.

Whilst the Practice was disappointed that two areas require improvement (click the report summary to view) we have listened and worked on an action plan for future improvements. Please see the action plan.

We welcome our patients, through our Patient Group to suggest and support those improvements to ensure we continue to deliver services.

Actions report we will take to meet Health and Social Care Act 2008, its associated regulations, or any other relevant legislation

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. The CQC makes sure that health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high quality that also encourages improvement.

The CQC regularly inspect GP Practices and during the inspections they look at 5 main areas:

  1. Is the Practice safe
  2. Is the Practice effective
  3. Is the Practice caring?
  4. Is the Practice responsive to its patient’s needs?
  5. Is the Practice well-led?

The CQC inspect and regulate different care services in different ways, they do this by:

  • Registering people that apply to them to provide services
  • Using data, evidence and information throughout their work
  • Using feedback that has been given to help them reach their judgements
  • Having inspections carried out by their experts
  • Publishing information on their judgements. In most cases they also publish a rating to help people choose care.
  • Taking action when they judge that services need to improve or to make sure those responsible for poor care are held accountable for it.
